談談Apple TV與Google TV的客廳之戰 果不期然,蘋果公司推出了新款的機上盒 Apple TV ,但也沒有出乎意料之外,蘋果公司再次把Apple TV 稱為 『one more hobby』何故也? 容後說明! 網際網路的發展,從改變音樂產業到出版產業,再到下一個『產業』- 電視,已是遲早的事,它不見得會是個revolution, 但肯定一定是個 evolution, 除了 Telco-IPTV﹑digital CATV外,包括Apple TV及Google TV等等之泛 “OTT-TV”一定會成為客廳中另一股重要的勢力! 但筆者認為，就電視內容產業經營而言，無論是Microsoft、Apple、Sony、Samsung、Yahoo 等等多麼偉大的業者都是後進者，跟手機、電腦網路市場截然不同！而後進者想要進入就必須具備以下充要條件，缺一不可。 1.完全迥異於傳統電視業者的經營模式 (廣告、收視費) Apple 從iPod、iPhone到iPad所成功"養"出來的一票新興匯流經濟消費者是否多到(無論是人數或是對ARPU的產值而言)足夠支撐起數位電視經營？雖然Apple已經具備很好的新興匯流經濟基礎 (profit sharing﹑ARPU-based) ，但是缺乏第2及第3點的支撐，恐仍難完成大局！ 2.除了web 2.0內容之外,還需有自有品牌且專屬的內容 這代表了即便擁有旁大的影視資料庫，如果你提供的某部電影或影音內容是其他頻道也看得到的，那麼仍不足以依此進入 「電視產業」。 這似乎也是前一版Apple TV失敗的原因之一.同理，如果未來Google TV認為把Youtube 當成是主力影視內容便可以大舉登入電視廳堂，筆者大膽預言，其結果不會跟Apple … Continue reading →
